Why You’ll Love This Macaroni and Cheese
- It is creamy, rich, and extra cheesy.
- It makes a great holiday or potluck side dish.
- The sauce coats every noodle with comfort-food flavor.

Helpful Tip
Stir constantly while the cheese sauce is heating so it melts smoothly and does not stick to the pan. Cutting the cheese into cubes helps it melt more evenly.

Classic Macaroni & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 box uncooked Creamette macaroni or cavatappi noodles I prefer the Cavatappi Noodles
- 1 stick butter softened not melted
- 2 talb flour
- Lawry's Seasoned Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Garlic powder to taste
- 1/4 lb Kraft Velveeta cheese
- 1 to 2 cups Kraft Colby cheese
- 1 1/2 cups Milk I use 1 % or 2 %
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees so it is ready when the macaroni goes in.
- Cook the macaroni as directed on the package.
- Mix together cooked macaroni, butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Once the ingredients are combined, place them in a Dutch oven and cook over low heat on the stovetop until everything is well blended. Stir constantly, so it does not stick to the pan.
- Now add your cheeses, cutting them into cubes to help them melt more evenly. Place the cheese into your 6.5-quart or Dutch oven pan with the other ingredients already inside. Keep stirring until the cheese begins to melt. Stir constantly, so it does not stick to the pan.
- You can take 3/4 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of flour and shake them together in a shaker jar. This usually works really well to avoid lumps of flour in your macaroni.
- Pour the milk from the shaker jar into the pan on the stovetop, along with the remaining milk. Stir constantly, so it does not stick to the pan.
- Pour all the ingredients into the Dutch oven.
- Bake at 350 degrees for around 40 minutes.
